I have lived in some pretty cold places, and always had dogs, and they never seemed to get cold when going outside. They loved it actually, bolting out the door to go jump and play in the snow. I know they didnt need a sweater inside. Now maybe your dog is an exception and does get cold in the winter. I am sure there are a few breeds or very old or very young dogs that might not be able to stay outside for any longer than to take care of business. I still dont think they need a sweater. And I really dont understand why on earth anyone would put clothing of any kind on their dog in the summer! That is just cruel.
They are dogs; note that I did NOT say they are JUST dogs. Putting clothing on them is strictly for your own weird sense of what is cute. I mean really, it would be very much like dressing my son up in a princess dress. Have you ever watched a dog rolling all over, scratching and biting to get out of the clothes? How many times have you heard a dog owner complain about how the dog just destroyed the clothing? I am quite sure that if they could, dogs would tell you quite adamantly that they do not want to be dressed.
